Adam J. McInerney is an associate in the firm’s Labor and Employment group. His practice is concentrated primarily in the representation of management in employment-related litigation in state and federal courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights. Adam has successfully defended lawsuits asserting claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, violations of ERISA, violations of COBRA, violations of state and federal wage and hour statutes, breach of contract, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, violation of restrictive covenants and class actions.
In addition to his litigation practice, Adam regularly counsels clients on various types of employment matters, including the creation and administration of company policies and handbooks, separation agreements, executive employment contracts, discipline, terminations and reductions in force, investigations, drug testing, WARN Act compliance, wage and hour compliance, and family and medical leave issues. In both his litigation and counseling practice, Adam provides services to clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to smaller closely held businesses.
Before becoming an attorney and while in law school, Adam worked in the securities industry.
Adam is a former Law Clerk for the Honorable Donald G. Collester, Jr., Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
Law and Politics Magazine has named Adam a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” of the New Jersey legal profession since 2008.
