Brett Reina, counsel in Riker Danzig’s Labor and Employment Group, has diverse experience litigating all phases of employment and labor disputes, including appellate matters, in state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and before the American Arbitration Association. In addition to private sector employers, his experience includes representation of public sector clients in employment and labor matters, including municipal, county and state governments and agencies, and school boards. Brett has handled a wide range of cases involving employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, benefits, wage and hour, and family leave claims, as well as non-compete, non-disclosure and other contract claims. Brett regularly counsels employers regarding their employment policies and practices and compliance with federal and state laws, with the goal of avoiding costly and unnecessary litigation. He was formerly associated with General Counsel and Labor and Employment Counsel for Warren County. Brett also has considerable experience in commercial and general litigation matters, and has served as a prosecutor for several New Jersey municipalities.
Brett is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He also presently serves as Vice President of the Delaware Valley Regional High School Board of Education, located in Hunterdon County.
Brett previously served as Managing Editor for the Quarterly Newsletter of the Labor and Employment Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He has published numerous articles and newsletters on employment and litigation related issues. During law school, Brett was also Associate Articles Editor of the Seton Hall Law Review.
