Richard D. Martinson

Counsel

Richard D. Martinson is counsel with Riker Danzig's tax and corporate groups. He is a highly experienced tax attorney whose practice focuses on sophisticated transactional tax planning for a broad range of corporate, partnership, international and other business-related issues. His particular areas of expertise include mergers and acquisitions (including taxable and tax-free stock and asset acquisitions, reorganizations, spin-offs and intercompany transactions); corporate restructurings; use of partnership, joint venture and other pass-through business vehicles in both domestic and international settings; cross-border financings, start-up, venture capital and private equity funds; use of tax sensitive financial instruments; leveraged leasing and equipment financings and real estate investment trusts.

Richard has over twenty years practice experience with several nationally-ranked law firms, and has participated in scores of high-profile deals involving Fortune 100 domestic and foreign corporations. He currently advises both public and private clients in developing unique and creative solutions to complex corporate and business transactional problems.
