Led by leaders in New Jersey's environmental bar and consulting community, this program will prepare environmental professionals to participate effectively in litigation and other legal proceedings. Professionals working in all environmental areas, including site remediation, toxic and hazardous waste management, land-use planning and permitting, and facility siting will gain knowledge that will benefit them both in court and in State and federal agency proceedings.
This program will discuss how to:

Learn terminology used in legal proceedings including exhibits, testimony, hearsay, rules of evidence and chain-of-custody;

Demonstrate professional integrity within the context of courtroom procedures;

Collect, organize and present your testimony;

Present effective testimony without going beyond the bounds of your expertise; and

Work effectively with attorneys and survive cross examination.
