Riker Danzig is pleased to welcome Liad Levinson to the Firm as an associate. Mr. Levinson joins the Firm’s Litigation and Insurance Groups, focusing on insurance and reinsurance disputes.
Mr. Levinson is experienced in complex commercial litigation and appeals, at both the federal and state levels. His litigation experience is extensive, having advised clients through all phases of dispute resolution, from pre-complaint through appellate strategies. Mr. Levinson has substantial experience representing directors and executive officers of public and private companies in civil and criminal litigation, including internal investigations, and government enforcement matters.
Mr. Levinson’s recent matters include the representation of an investment corporation in private arbitration involving financial services firms, with nearly $1 billion in damages at issue. He has also represented former officers and directors of troubled banks in multiple matters concerning the FDIC and OCC. Mr. Levinson routinely advises clients on strategies for failed investment and business ventures.
Mr. Levinson received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 2008, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a Teaching Fellow of Negotiation. He served as Managing, Production, and Development Editor of the Columbia Journal of European Law and received the Parker School Certificate for Achievement in International and Comparative Law.
Mr. Levinson received his LL.B. with first class honours from University College London in England. At University College, he received the Andrews Prize for excellence in legal scholarship, and the Queen Mary’s Scholarship for academic achievement.
Prior to joining Riker Danzig, Mr. Levinson was an associate with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York, and Rouse Hendricks German May PC in Kansas City. He is licensed in New Jersey, New York, and Missouri. Mr. Levinson is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second, Eighth, and Tenth Circuits, as well as the Unites States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, Western District of Missouri, and the District of Kansas.
