Chambers and Partners recently recognized a number of Riker Danzig’s practice groups with top honors in its 2010 Chambers USA Guide. Our Bankruptcy & Reorganization, Insurance Litigation and Environmental practices earned first tier rankings, while our Corporate, Commercial Litigation, Employment, Products Liability Litigation, White Collar Criminal Litigation and Real Estate Practices were also awarded top rankings as follows:

Bankruptcy (First Tier): The Guide notes that our practice is “brimming with quality” and quotes interviewees who “identify the group’s skilled representation of indenture trustees as a particular strength.”

Commercial Litigation: Attorneys in our commercial litigation group are praised for their “work ethic and creative approach” and litigation tactics described as being a “sixth sense.”

Corporate: Our Corporate Group is described by Chambers as being “extraordinarily responsive and fully in tune with their clients’ needs.” Corporate attorneys are praised for being “very talented” and the group as a whole is honored for the strong reputation created while working for midmarket companies.

Environmental (First Tier): Praised for a group that is “staffed with first-rate lawyers,” Chambers recognizes our Environmental Group’s “tremendous reputation in the environmental field” and our “deep expertise in the full range of environmental work.”

General Litigation: Honored for keeping the client “on board and up to date at every stage of the process,” our general litigation practice receives praise for its breadth of coverage and for the group’s reputation as “zealous courtroom advocates.”

Insurance Litigation (First Tier): The Guide notes our group’s expertise in insurance disputes and recognizes the “tremendous reputation” group chair, Shawn Kelly, has in the field.

Labor and Employment: The Guide recognizes our group’s “strong reputation” that is “rooted in its litigation expertise, which covers the full range of employer-side matters.” Sources are quoted as saying “the firm’s practical approach yields great results.”

Products Liability Litigation: Praising the group’s chair, Anne Patterson, as being “an outstanding products liability attorney,” Chambers credits the success of our Products Liability Group to the firm’s focus on clients.

Real Estate: Our Real Estate Group “has long been associated with strength on the transactional side,” as noted in this year’s Chambers Guide. The Guide calls the group “an industry leader in land use issues and real estate transactions.”

White-Collar Criminal Litigation: Chambers ranks our firm’s White-Collar Criminal Litigation Group among the top in the state and notes the group’s experience with environmental white-collar criminal matters.

The following 16 Riker Danzig attorneys were individually recognized as “Leading Lawyers”:

Glenn Clark (Commercial Litigation): Called “a veteran commercial litigator, whose work ethic and creative approach is popular with a broad range of clients.”

Michael Furey (Labor & Employment): A “superb New Jersey counsel – he knows the courts, the opposing counsel and the judges, and combines this knowledge and expertise with a highly practical approach.”

Shawn Kelly (Insurance Litigation, First Tier): Praised for his “tremendous reputation in the field,” the Guide quotes sources that call him “knowledgeable and astute” and laud his “good, analytical business brain.”

Dennis Krumholz (Environment, First Tier): He is “a first-chair litigator of the highest caliber, and a dean of the environmental Bar,” and sources assert that “there is little in the environmental sphere to which he could not successfully turn his hand.”

Gerald Liloia (Commercial Litigation): He is praised for his “communication skills and responsiveness," and clients say “his tactics are so good, it’s almost like he has a sixth sense for how things will play out.”
