Our Areas of Practice

White Collar Criminal Defense

The attorneys in Riker Danzig’s White Collar Criminal Law Practice Group have extensive experience assisting clients with government enforcement or compliance issues for which criminal charges may be at risk. We regularly manage complex federal and state court litigation on behalf of Fortune 500 corporations, and their officers and directors.

Our group is led by former Assistant United States Attorney Samuel P. Moulthrop, who served as Chief of the Criminal Division, Chief of the Appeals Division, Deputy Chief of the Fraud and Public Protection Division and Chief of the Environmental Section. Mr. Moulthrop also served as the Acting Branch Chief and as an Enforcement Attorney with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In addition, he has been named to the Best Lawyers in America list for 1996 through 2006 editions of the book published by Woodward/White, Inc.

With the full resources of the firm available to provide the benefit of experience in all substantive areas of the law, Riker Danzig’s White Collar Criminal Law Practice is able to address all aspects of white collar criminal law problems. The group frequently calls upon attorneys with significant experience in governmental affairs, banking, tax, securities, corporate and environmental law in order to meet the client’s needs.

The group’s attorneys have developed strong relationships with government lawyers, and are often able to resolve problems outside of court, but are prepared to litigate aggressively when in the client’s best interest.
