Brenda Liss, counsel in Riker Danzig’s School Law Group, will serve as the moderator of a panel discussion entitled, “Shared Services – What’s Working Now.” School and municipal leaders will participate on the panel, which will discuss how shared services can successfully create efficiencies in the face of tighter budgets. Panel participants include John McCormac, the Mayor of Woodbridge Township, who will discuss his Township’s own shared services arrangement.
The panel will be part of the New Jersey School Boards Association and the New Jersey State League of Municipalities’ program called, “Collaborating on Real Solutions to the 2% Cap.” The program as a whole will focus on the impact shared services and other strategies could have on school districts and municipalities struggling with the 2-percent tax levy cap.
The program will be held at the War Memorial in Trenton on Saturday, January 29, 2011. For more information or to register, please go to http://www.njsba.org/sb_notes/20110104/2percentcap.html.
